The Blogging Den
In a splendidly retro way, TheEye has been tagged in a what-does-your-desk-look-like meme by Woman On A Raft. The path of tagging destruction wends its way back to Mordor via JuliaM; Grim Reaper and ManWiddecombe, Filthy Engineer and to the instigator, the unmissable Dick Puddlecote. Various others of the bloggers of Gondor have also been threatened with annihilation on the way.
And there you have it. The screensavers betray TheEye’s love of fish, and there’s a 110 gallon tank to the left of this shot; mostly angelfish. The discus tank is in the front room. The presence of a tape measure won’t surprise the denizens of DickP’s blog, and the books would get more attention if the paperweights above them didn’t do such a splendid job. The elbowrest/bartowel is of unknown origin. It was just….there…one morning(ish).
TheEye tags John Ward and CatoSays if they’ve not been tapped up already.
Thanks for sharing your blogging Den, Eye! You are braver than me! Being a hidden bunni in a bunker, I just wouldn’t do it, no matter who asked.
Have a Happy New Year! And, may 2011 be your best ever. 😀

You were joking about the shark tank, weren’t you?
A friend – an otherwise normal household – became interested in seahorses and ended up with marine tanks running along the through-lounge walls. They became respected seahorse researchers in the end.
I loved their house and garden because the main reception gradually became more like Neptune’s Kingdom, turning bluey-green. The kitchen – where the interest had started – had tropical freshwater tanks. By the time you got to the little nailed-on conservatory there were ordinary coldwater fish.
The garden was a ‘runway’ type, narrow but went on forever. They ended up cutting a rill in that which wiggled down the lawn, which was itself like a green hall carpet. The rill rose from a 1950s-type alpine stream rockery and danced by a little rock-pool with frogs and newts.
I’ve never seen such an enchanted house. I wouldn’t have been surprised to find a mermaid in the bathroom.

It sounds absolutely fantastic and I can’t boast anything near as splendid as that.
This photo is from the plecostomus tank a few minutes ago. Two 9 inch long specimens in there. This is what they will grow into, but mine weren’t quite as keen to pose for the cameras at 1am so my photo is a bit blurry.
