The Left Are Running Scared

n any ordinary US Presidential cycle, the Vice Presidential pick on a losing ticket would have long since sunk into obscurity a year since an election. However the last election was not ordinary, and neither was the Republican choice for VP.

Sarah Palin energised the battered Republican Party, established some solid conservative credentials and put down a firm marker for a future bid for the top job. Indeed, even three years out from the ejection from office of One-Term Barry and in a crowded Republican field of contenders, she is already in comfortably positive polling territory (59% to 21%) of GOP voters knowing that she shares their values. As yesterday’s men Huckabee and Romney fade, and if she choses to, she’ll be an early frontrunner for the GOP slot in 2012. She’s smart, articulate and dynamic.

All of which is why the Left…on both sides of the Pond…fear her above all other candidates. Witness the front cover of tomorrows edition of the vanity-publishing rag that is the New Statesman. If the Left is at daggers drawn so early and so nastily then she’s got to be doing something right.

Imagine the outcry if a magazine which is circulated (although largely unread in the case of The Staggers) nationwide did a similar hatchet-job on Michelle Obama or Nancy Pelosi? There would be outrage, wailing and gnashing of socialist teeth. Remember, children: pictures of Barack Hussein Obama as a monkey or death threats BAD, pictures of George Walker Bush as a monkey or death threats FINE. In fact, the media even tried to spin threats against Obama as somehow being Palin’s fault.

If she thinks it’s bad right now, there’ll be getting a lot more misogynistic hostility to come before 2012.
