Queen’s Birthday Parade

Yesterday afternoon was a scorching hot day in Gibraltar and the traditional Queen’s Birthday parade took place in a packed Casemates Square.

The Band and Corps of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment was in fine form and gave a spectacular marching display.

Fresh from recording the strongest Tory share of the vote in any area of the UK during the EU elections (hat/tip to a denizen of Croydon) of 51.9% a display of patriotism was shown by hundreds of people who really should have just been in shorts ‘n’ t-shirts on the beach.

The Pipes and Drums of RAF Leuchars were also in attendance and equally entertained spectators with their display. They will be playing this evening at HMS Rooke (St Crispin will be missed but TheEye will be using up his own ration in the Mess and then some).

Feel free to come along! Three spare tickets available.
