In what can only be described as an outbreak of criminal mob violence, pupils from the Hundred of Hoo Comprehensive School in Medway have been running up to smokers in the street, shouting “ciggy busters” and snatching their cigarettes from them.
First spotted at Corrugated Soundbite’s, then Dick Puddlecote‘s; from Big Brother Watch we read:

And didn’t stop it!?
Medway police seem to be happy for youths to snatch your property from your hands in broad daylight, so purse theft is obviously fair game in their High Street….but ironically taking a photograph of a chip shop there will get you arrested. Strange times, indeed.
Apparently the law-abiding people of Kent can be robbed on the street with the tacit approval of the local constabulary as part of an ongoing scheme from the school which will continue through September. So beware if you are in the area – there are criminals on the loose. Keep your elbows sharp and be prepared to punch any thieves in self-defence if a mugging and assault on your person occurs.
The ‘cameraman’, Ollie Gapper (who until just now listed his interests on Facebook as “porn, calling chavs and smokers idiots” and “being smarter than you” posted the video on YouTube and quickly pulled it. It’s back up now, but just in case he pulls it again it’s been hosted somewhere nice’n’safe where it can be watched in horror by libertarians at their leisure.
OOOOH I can’t wait for the local skool to target 4×4’s – The rusty Panda might only have a one litre engine, but it is perfectly capable of pulling 2 ton vans up snow covered hills. Just think what damage it could do if some of these oiks “accidentally” G.O.T in the way…

Many emails have already been written to the “organisation”, (for want of a better word), which provided your equipment, to your irresponsible “schoolteacher”, (God preserve us from this generation of fascist morons), and also Medway Police, who disgracefully allowed this filming to go ahead.
Rumour has it the people are “plants”……. I reckon they’re vegetables, myself!

I’m not a smoker, and hate cigarettes. Never the less, I would never try to force my views on others. If a person wants to shorten their life, that’s their choice. Tranny always begins with the best of attentions. Person liberty must never be compromised.
Agree completely with that way of looking at things.
I tolerate the views of vegetarians but don’t expect my burger snatched out of my hands. Teetotallers are a fine (if cranky) lot but I expect to be able to hold my pint undisturbed in the pub. And I am happy to give the reciprocal courtesy.

I also agree with Trestin although I do not see smoking as shortening my life, nor is my SHS shortening anyone elses life as the Tobacco Control movement would have some gullible people believe.

Yes, it looks like this was the only Y/Tube vid which is still up there; it was the only one I had a chance to download in case it goes walkabout again.
Longer term readers of this blog will know that just over a year ago I was quite happily minding my own business one day only for things to go a bit fuzzy and to wake up 3 days later from a coma with all of my relatives round at my house arguing over who would get the fish tanks. That sort of thing has a profound effect on whether you think that dodgy health statistics pumped out by special interest groups with agendas really matter.
People can argue about passive smoking statistics all they like. I’m planning to be the first guy in Gibraltar killed by a meteorite.

I too have never smoked. Detest everything about the horrible things. However, it is perfectly legal and adults should be allowed puff away, filling their lungs up with crap. These stupid kids have obviously been indoctrinated. I am also against a blanket ban on smoking in pubs. Before the ban, if I chose to go into a pub (often as it happens!) then it was my lookout if I ended up stinking of fags.
I once had the pleasure of being in the IT department of Medway, and can confirm, that since Hoo is effectivley an island, and is cut off from the rest of Kent, there a re a lot of strange goings on. Apparently there are 7,000 people, but only 6 surnames!!!
