9/11 BBC Question Time: The Video
Cross-Posted from the Biased-BBC blog
Many of us watched the Question Time Special immediately following the 9/11 atrocity in utter disbelief as it took a rabid and disgusting anti-American line.
The former US ambassador to Britain, Philip Lader, was almost reduced to tears on the panel as the audience shouted him down and hurled abuse. It was a shameful night for the BBC and prompted thousands of complaints. The BBC underplayed the aftermath here.
Recordings of that particular programme are particularly hard to find anywhere (odd, eh?) but regular contributor here TooTrue remembered that a fellow Biased-BBCer had mentioned having a version. So after a bit of tech stuff, here it is. Our grateful thanks go to both of them.
It’s now hosted on EyeTube – my censorship-free video hosting site.
It is disgusting. Don’t watch with sharp objects nearby.
Ta Eye, I wasn’t online at the time of 9-11 but had already given up on watching the BBC; I saw it unfold on the TVs in a motorbike shop.
I have heard of the Question Time Special but never expected to be able to see it.
I am now looking forward to getting very annoyed.

Yasmin was on beeb radio 2 yesterday being asked what she thought about the idea of journalists needing be licensed in the wake of HackGate. She was flumoxed because she could not find a form of words that said “their journalists should require licensing but not journalists like me”.

Yasmin Imakemoneyfrombeing-Brown is the worst form of race baiter. An absolutely nauseating hypocrite. Much like Polly Toynbee is but without the villa in Tuscany.
No wonder the BBC give her so much air time.

Well that was refreshing, having seen all three vids I don’t really see what the problem is or what the Ambassador was getting upset about.
Apart from a couple of leftie gingers towards the end hardly any proper British people spoke against America and it ended with Dimbleby nakedly shouting down a chap (with the black tie and large sleeeves who looked like he might be anti but wasn’t) whose reasonable defence of America made Tam squirm.
For a Lib Dem Paddy did extremely well.
