For Sale: Aircraft Carrier (Scratched)
For those of you immune to the charms ofย spoof postings on property websites selling Ireland here’s a genuine For Sale post, and the product really is available.
HMS Invincible. Availability is listed as In Stock, which is handy for Christmas. Buyer collection only, which is a pain if your tugboat flotilla is busy that weekend. Most of it seems to be NFG (Non Functioning Gear in the jargon, or No Fucking Good as it was always better known)
The military disposals site she’s on often has some pretty nifty kit on it and it’s on TheEye’s list of occasional checks. Nothing else of note on there at the moment (unless you want a Saxon armoured personnel carrier for ยฃ25k) although the stupidity of Heavy Duty Spanner (this item is untested) makes for a good facepalm moment.
The wife wants to know if they come in any other colours?

Officially “No”, but I know this ware’ouse downtown, see? Quick spray job, change the chassis number, new plates….it can be whatever the missus wants, guvn’r. Pass for new it would, if you want it for a present. For the right price.

Typical DM rubbish reporting. The website is a government one, not a private sector one, and it’s up for tender, not auction. And the bit in the article about refitting isn’t right either. Apart from that the rest of it is….largely bollocks as well.

84 quid for a fucking wheel brace? Jesus, 84 quid! Is it made out of heroin or do you get a blow job with it or something? I dread to think how much Invincible would be.

I suppose one slightly scratched Carrier is marginally better than one slightly dented Sub .. Lol

They’re thinking in the region of ยฃ2million for Invincible. Probably be worth it if you wanted to sort out a raw material bulk-purchase for a razor-blade factory. For a decade.

No coat required (this time!)
I was going to blog on the Astute again when a bit more news came out. The CO has been relieved of command pending his formal bollocking and a non-job sailing a desk but no news on Navs or the OOW. Surprised they’re not job-hunting by now.

No planes with this one, true, but AllSeeingEye aims to provide a complete military shopping experience, so we offered first dibs on a Russian bomber here in September and other kit in the past. Regular visitors with access to our Overseas Aid Budget could easily stock a small corrupt dictatorship in no time at all.
Cheers for the linky; much appreciated!

Not sure it would be much use – it’s listed as 95% mild steel. Razor blades are normally stainless….

*sigh* There’s always one who ruins it by actually knowing something about a topic. This is the internet – if you know real facts you’re in the wrong place!

That looks similar to the rear hub bearing on my old Panda, which by the sounds emanating from it might need replacing soon…
