Paintings Of Pigs Scare The Dutch

“Three paintings depicting pigs have been pre-emptively removed from a hospital in Leerdam because they might offend Muslims.
One patient, not actually himself a Muslim, made a complaint about the paintings because he wanted to avoid Muslims having confrontations with the pigs. The leadership of the healthcare institution, the Linge Polyclinic, thereupon decided to remove the paintings immediately, Algemeen Dagblad newspaper reports.
The artist, Sylvia Bosch, is astounded. “One week earlier, I had an e-mail from the clinic saying that they were getting nice reactions. After a single complaint, they had to be taken away immediately.”
The Linge Polyclinic has stated that the pictures were removed because “all visitors must feel comfortable in the institution”.

Can the Dutch ask for a Muslim medic to be removed from any hospital now?
Interesting you should mention Muslim medics. I spotted this very enlightening article a couple of days ago about his experiences of Islamic practices affecting hospitals – and how in Saudi they oddly seem to have much less impact than in London.
I’ve been meaning to blog on it for days but have been horribly busy. Maybe tomorrow evening when I get some time to myself, but in the meantime it’s well worth a read.

I’m sure there’ll be a £120k-a-year job for him over here in one of our esteemed “charidees” if he wants it. It further proves my “pet theory” regarding righteous types and what they perceive to be their “minorities”.
Yes, excellent article and shows the difference between here where everyone (both Muslims and their Little Helpers) go completely over the top in the search for some mythical spiritual perfection…and in a supposedly strict orthodox Middle East countries where they inject a bit of common sense and just get on with things.
I will definitely blog on it either later tonight or tomorrow and hope that it gets passed around a bit, but horribly busy today.

A local Immam told me that Moslems do not find pigs offensive as such, just the eating of them, much like we regard dogs.
We are urged to demand of medics whether they have washed their hands in thre fight against hospital disease, perhaps we might ask Moslem Dr.s if they have used the recommended alcohol handwash likewise?
