Your own pictures Mr Eye?
Snapped from my neighbour’s balcony. There’s a stack of photos but the best is the top one, with the lower one to show context.
For Google Map purposes, that’s Casemates Square at the top.
Good result .. and he didn’t even get Tasered in the goolies …. 😉
I know I would love to spend time in Gibralter, but prison’s not my idea of a good time, even if the room and board are cheap. Small room, no view, down and out back-packers, I’ve been there, done that. So I’m guessing that my life of crime in paradise ain’t gonna happen. But it sure looks nice there. Lucky you.
I trust you will report yourself to the police for taking pictures of them…
Armed robbery just doesn’t pay like it used to. Places don’t hold the cash these days. If he tried knocking over the Swarovski shop, that’s a compliment to the company.
Swarovski have been doing purposeful marketing and placement for 22 years and did a fantastic job with an old company. Their product is essentially glass. Nicely cut glass, very practical and in some smashing hypoallergenic sets, top quality dress-jewellery and knick-knackery, but glass none the less.
It’s not something which you would knock over a shop for. A better plan would be to nick the purses of other customer. These modern robbers; no attention to research.
Well the current prison, Moorish Castle, is built into medieval fortifications which gives it a forbidding feel – slightly reduced by occasional incidents of lags mixing with the cleaners and walking out.
Under pressure from do-gooders who don’t like their prisons to have battlements which have seen real action they’ve just finished a replacement and given it the altogether more 21st century cuddly name of ‘Windmill Hill’. Tours for visitors were a fortnight ago. Very shiny.
No laws like that over here yet, but don’t give them any ideas!
That might have been better than his other option – they had very big guns.
And no attention to geography either. What is the logic of a Spaniard doing this in a foreign country when his only escape route is past the Army barracks, though the middle of the RAF base and then out through a single-file customs check? Or by fast boat taking on the Navy and RGP boats?
Agree with you about Swarovski. Some of the watches sold in shops nearby would have been a better idea.
Is it true that the Donkey in La Linea is no more, ASE ? …. =-O
