Who Are These People?
In a recent poll, Virgin Media subscribers were asked who they would like to see as Prime Minister … chosen from characters who appear on the Idiot Box.
And yes indeed, it is Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes anti-hero cop Detective Chief Inspector Gene Hunt – played by Philip Glenister – who was voted by television watchers as the fictional character they would most like to see become the Prime Minister.
Hunt beat the never-been-a-ginger Time Lord from Doctor Who and Top Gear‘s silent and faceless Stig to the top job.
However, TheEye was baffled by the other names on the list. Someone called “Frank Gallagher” (Shameless – is that a programme or a description?) took fourth place, ahead of a Rosie Webster (who is apparently in Coronation Street), Sue Brockman (Outnumbered – never even heard of the programme), Tony Hutchinson (Hollyoaks – never seen it), Eric Pollard (Emmerdale – never watched it) and Norris Cole (Coronation Street – ditto).
All of a sudden TheEye feels very old. Who are these people?
Do not worry Mr. Eye, I do not have a clue either and I am apparently “young” (twenties) they are most likely people without any relevance to the real word.

I appreciate that, 13th Spitfire. I’ve only got a few years on you so we’re in the same boat. That cheers me up greatly, for which I am very thankful.
Anyone who rings me up doing a survey gets told to fuck off so I guess it’s not a reflection of normal people like me.
If I was a Virgin customer and they had rung me up and I didn’t tell them to fuck off I would have voted for Jean Darbly from Juliet Bravo.
If you can keep a lid on the hotbed that was Hartley between 1980 and 85 I think you should have a chance to show the whole country how it’s done.
With Sgt Beck as her deputy of course.
Oh I’m so embarrassed, I’m ancient and I do know who most of them are but I have an excuse, if like a psychiatrist you should understand how your patients minds work, so as not to be branded as out of touch as a judge or a politician then it can sometimes help to understand the non-real world that so many of Labour’s dumbed down electorate live in daily. If only some one could awaken them to the reality that surrounds them then I suspect we’d have full scale riots across the length and breadth of the sorry excuse for a country.

If you hadn’t spent all your time watching Strippers vs Zombies you might have heard of some of this lot!
Granted I don’t know all of them myself, however from what I see in a certain “Red Top” tabloid, most of the female cast of Hollyoaks SHOULD be strippers!
