Give Up Coffee And Save A Polar Bear
According to the Scotsman, every time we have a cup of filter coffee a penguin loses its wings. Or something.
Dr Reay, a senior lecturer in carbon management at Edinburgh University, claims that the average cup of black filter coffee is responsible for 125 grams of carbon emissions. But the figure for a regular cup of black instant coffee is around 80g.
Add milk to your morning coffee, and the methane belched by dairy cows means you increase your coffee’s climate-changing emissions by more than a third.
Dr Reay added: “The environmental group WWF has calculated it takes 200 litres of water to produce the coffee, milk, sugar and cup for just one regular takeout latte. If everyone ditched their pre-work coffee fix that would do wonders for the planet.”
TheEye doesn’t drink filter coffee, nor in fact any type of coffee unless as a way to disguise a breakfast time hangover cure. However it is pleasing to note that the distortions and lies continue as though ClimateGate never happened.
For more graphics on the CO2 fight back against the hoax why don’t you head over to the GOT‘s place? Get’em while they’re still Warming….
I heard a senior lecturer at Glasgow University allegedly sang from the same hymn sheet but his parting shot wasn’t about penguins but ‘a bear loses its hair’.

It’s always the more photogenic animals, isn’t it? No-one ever says ‘or a colony of leeches will shrivel up’.
This is what always makes me suspicious about AGW. Einstein was wrong but very very close to matching demonstrable evidence with his theory of relativity. When other scientists looked at his ideas, they refined them and came out with better and more developed work over the following decades. Thats the scientific method. Einstein didn’t stand on a chair and shout “Trust my work or the cockroaches will all die!”
