Lunatic Japanese Politician
On the day that the leaders of the two main political parties, Peter Mandelson and David Cameron, are being lined up by SKY News for a pre-election debate (preparations are proceding apace; they’ve recruited someone called Clog to carry the drinks) we are luckily reminded that when it comes to politicians there are some countries out there who can trump our local crackpots.
I give you Toyoma Koichi, independent candidate in 2007 to be Governor of Tokyo. Incredibly, 15,059 people voted for him.
Truly the Apocalypse is upon us.
This guy is a prize twat! Unfortunately, I don’t know why other than boredom and resentment, they have just elected a load of Lefties…….they will not like it one little bit and, as we know here, it’s a lot harder to get rid of them afterwards than it is to elect them in the first place!

We think that “give the other lot a try” feeling kicks in after 3 elections so to have had a run of 55 years is a good shot. Interesting how many political dynasties have been swept away – a lot of father-to-son constituencies for a country which (except for the emperor) has given up the hereditary principle. Maybe frustration at complacency?
But as you rightly say, let the lefties get their feet under the table and they are like barnacles. There will be mass replacements at the top of quangos and the civil service and so beings an entrenched decade of influence.
