TheEye has fond memories of attending the Royal Tournament as a child.
From recollection it was however the Royal Navy team who won the Field Gun Run on each occasion attended. Sorry St C but you squaddies were going through a bad patch in those years.
The problem with your post in TheEye’s opinion is:
1. Labour detest anything military or with ‘Royal’ associations and so won’t do it.
2. Some do-gooders will complain about reviving such things during Broon’s recession.
3. The No10 petition website is only a way to get a database of addresses and emails anyway.
4. Everyone will just get an email after the 10th saying “No, Sorry Sunshine”.
5. On his last visit TheEye completely and spectacularly failed to get off with an Army officer called Helen. Tall, slim, blonde, eyes you could drown in and in full dress uniform. TheEye is picky so was only using the three hours at the bar to have something to do whilst waiting for a bus or a train or something. Honestly. And she was almost certainly a lesbian. Must have been. No other explanation.
In summary, there are many reasons why the Royal Tournament isn’t coming back in a hurry. But (5) is why it was stopped.

I also visited the Royal Tournement as a lad, the Royal Artillery ride was certainly thrilling, especially the bugle bit. Telly and Youtube are a mere ghost to a live performance but Labour hate all things military and will continue with the lie that its cancellation was a cost cutting execise ( in fact it was cost-effective recruitment publicity ).
The South-West keeps up something of the tradition with at least one Royal Navy Field Gun Run and several venues host the wildly popular Red Arrows each year even though Blair tried to ban them.
