GYPSIES, TRAMPS AND THIEVES…
I think it is a scandal that cash-strapped councils across the UK are being bullied into creating gypsy campsites that no one wants – not even the travellers.
The claim has been made as town halls face a multi-million pound bill to develop an extra 7,500 sites for “gypsies, travellers and travelling showpeople” in line with new housing laws. Government figures show the number of traveller caravans in England grew by more than 1,200 in the past two years to 17,900, an eight per cent rise.
Why are we spending any money on such “facilities”? If some people choose a nomadic lifestyle, that’s their decision, I fail to see why it should become MY cost! Do you?
A “Permanent” site was set up round here donkeys years ago, but within a few months they had stripped it of anything with a scrap value….
And why do they quicky build permanent accomodation as soon as they have set up a new camp? (The ones they do over a weekend when the authorities are powerless to stop them!)
If they are travellers, let them travel and pay for camps, the same as any other caravanners. If, on the other hand, they want to “put down roots” let them do it the same way as any body else….

Absolutely. Not only that – they have to employ special educationalists to cater for the needs of these people.
So-called “Travellers” are not a Race .. its a life-style choice .. with us mugs picking up the bloody bills …

Bang On, but it will never happen. No one in politics has balls, only in name. It something you have to have removed when you start.

True of most but I can assure you not all. We need a revolution in this country and cleansing out the sewer at Westminster is the start.
Most of the increase in travellers is people from Ireland – often large extended families. I fail to see why the Irish (as opposed to the Northern Irish) are permitted to claim benefits and vote here (nb they couid do this even before we joined the EU).
Wherever there are large settlements of ‘travellers’ there is an increase in dog theft. it’s not safe now to leave a dog unattended anywhere, esp working breeds (inc hounds, lurchers, terriers etc), gundogs too are stolen for onward sale or ransom, and pedigree dogs for breeding. Dog theft is now big business. Get your dogs microchipped!

It is not a scandal, ot os a carefully crafted policy of Labours to bring in the multitude of minority votes. Wait and see, my prediction is that travelling voting booths will be created before the next election…along with sharia compliant ones, and pink ones, and foreign speaking ones, and …..
