The YouTube Conspiracy
The GOT, Corrugated Soundbite and many others have recently been making grumbling noises about videos being removed from YouTube after they had linked to them.
It’s not some random spotty geek in the YouTube basement deciding what to do based on whether he managed that 17th level Archmage upgrade last night. There are a pile of activist groups to ‘help’ him: take a look at (both featuring lots of Arabic):
..and youtube.com/Flag4Islam
In response the YouTube Smackdown Corps seems to be the only real competition.
Hat-tip to Jawa for the links
I rarely use You Tube personally ..
But I wonder .. if people stopped using it & they noticed a sudden downturn in traffic, might that make them think again about their attitude towards free speech ?
Just a thought ..

The problem is the brand recognition. It infuriates me when people talk of Googling for something when there are a thousand other search engines. Hell, I was on the dev team for one of them so I take it personally. It’s the same with video sharing.
The only differential is the attitude of the management, and you’ve got to get that message across somehow.

That story does reassure me that there’s hope yet. A chance to turn the tide.

I understand what you mean Eye ..
But surely, the same must apply (but doesn’t) regarding brand recognition .. as we refer to all Vacuum cleaners as “Hoovers” or all Ball-point pens as “Biros” ..
If sufficient nubers of people were persuaded to use alternative systems for posting video clips (for example by influential bloggers) then You Tube would notice a drop in traffic & ask themselves a question ..
Wouldn’t they ?

So what you are suggesting is alternative systems for posting video clips (for example by influential bloggers)
You know, that might just work?
All it needs is someone to write one.
I wonder where the last two video’s posted on this blog are hosted?
Ummm, watch this space =-X 😀 😀 😀

It is important to fight against censorship wherever we see it, but IMO, the domination or the MSM by Zionist owners is a far bigger problem. We don’t however touch that in case we are seen as being ‘anti-semetic’, although the Jewish people who are in control of that are not Semites, i.e. not of the diaspora of the people of Judea but are descendents of the Khazars in Khazakstan.

The two go hand in hand. If *anyone* dominates the MSM and slants the output and the message; it makes no difference who it is…that’s a very bad thing.
Which is why blogging is so dangerous to those who try to stifle debate – it can’t be “controlled”. That’s why we’re working on the video hosting idea I’ve just posted on, and there is another significant initiative by another blogger in the pipeline.
‘Freedom’ must be the cry and the aim.
