Justice Minister Stabbed: Update
Again, local news; but as the main writer of this blog is in the midst of the action then when the occasion demands we will carry such things.
David Jesus Bonicci, 40, of Bacas Passage, the man accused of stabbing Gibraltar’s Justice Minister Daniel Feetham in the back with a kitchen knife has appeared in the Magistrates Court charged with attempted murder. Dressed in a prison jumpsuit and wearing handcuffs, he was granted legal aid and remanded in custody in Windmill Hill prison.
This is the second time within a year that Bonicci is alleged to have stabbed someone. He’s currently on bail in connection with another charge of attempted murder relating to an incident that happened almost a year ago to the day.
In early November last year, Bonicci is alleged to have walked into the Accident & Emergency department in St Bernard’s Hospital and assaulted several staff members including stabbing a doctor in the chest.
Bonicci was charged in connection with that case and spent several months on remand in jail, with bail refused on a number of occasions. However he was eventually granted bail by the Magistrates Court, a decision that was appealed by the Attorney General but subsequently upheld by the Supreme Court.
Well that worked out well, didn’t it?
All the more reason to make prison sentences mean what they say ..
Perhaps this time, as the victim is a Politician .. something might just get done ..
But, just to be on the safe side .. I won’t hold my breath ..

We’ll see what happens. There was much anger in the pub at lunchtime directed at the judges concerned, and blame is being laid at the doors of those who allowed this to happen.

What a psycho! It’s the same out here, the no good judges let all these murdering scum out , and they are free to wreck havoc again. I hope he doesn’t get off so easily this time, and the victim recovers swiftly.

Exactly, Bunni! There are nutters everywhere, and they don’t need all the extra help that we seem to give them to cause trouble.
