“Judges at the European Court of Human Rights have ruled it is not an insult to
men to compare them with blondes.The bizarre hearing came after Serbian
journalists were sued by a lawyer for his eccentric ‘blonde moment’ decisions
accompanied by a picture of a model in lingerie.Local courts ruled that the
lawyer had been libeled by the slur.But now seven judges in Strasbourg have
overturned the decision, saying that it isn’t an insult for a man to be called a
“blonde”.Although it was “somewhat mocking” they ruled: “It could not have been
understood as a gratuitous personal insult comparing an adult man to a blonde
woman.”
