And Now For The Tie-Breaker
In the words of Ben Franklin, “They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
And yet the Irish have surrendered. Bullied horrendously by vested interests, politicians with approval ratings so low that only McDoom could envy them and of course by the EU establishment themselves, the result is a Yes to balance out the recent No.
In the spirit of all good competitions, the scores are now level at one-all and so we should go to a tie-breaker.
To be sure, to se sure, to be sure.
I honestly didn’t think they would be so easily duped – they won’t like it when the reality of this treaty slaps them down! 🙁

I didn’t blog on this because of the strenuous denials at the the time but this sort of thing might come into play sooner than the Irish think – a petition by a Swedish MP to force abortion across the EU. You only need a million signatures to get any bit of legislation up to the highest level for attention. The Irish will regret what they have done sooner rather than later.
